Guadalupe County’s adopted FY2027 budget provides a 3% across-the-board pay increase for employees other than elected officials.
The budget took effect Oct. 1 and sets the pay terms for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2027, according to the county’s adopted budget and a Guadalupe.News review of its budget certificate.
From the source record
A hypothetical $50,000 salary would rise by $1,500 before other changes (50,000 x 0.03); this is an illustration, not an employee's documented pay.Guadalupe.News calculation from the county’s adopted budget ↗
Eligible full-time county workers have a $1,000 longevity base, and eligible part-time workers have a $500 base, if they had one continuous year of service as of Oct. 1. The service requirement matters: the longevity amounts do not apply to every employee simply because the new fiscal year began.
For scale, a 3% increase on a hypothetical $50,000 salary is $1,500 before other changes. That is a Guadalupe.News calculation illustrating the percentage, not a documented raise for any particular worker. The budget certificate states the pay policy; it does not establish an individual employee’s resulting paycheck.
The next useful check is the county’s payroll spending as FY2027 proceeds: the pay terms alone do not show their total cost. Residents can inspect the adopted budget’s certificate on PDF page 10 for the raise, longevity amounts and eligibility date.
