Guadalupe County commissioners approved the final plat of Lantana Unit 2 in Precinct 4 by a 3-2 vote on Nov. 3.

The approval covers the final plat for 93 lots in Precinct 4. For people near the proposed subdivision, the decision settles the county vote on its submitted lot layout after the court deferred the plat the week before.

From the source record

Guadalupe County Commissioners Court vote on the Lantana Unit 2 final plat, Nov. 3, 2026.The court minutes name Jim Wolverton and Stephen Germann as the two no votes.

Commissioner Engelke moved to approve the plat, and Commissioner Ott seconded the motion. Commissioners Jim Wolverton and Stephen Germann voted no. The Nov. 3 minutes record the split vote under item 6.G; they are the primary record for the decision.

A decision after a one-week delay

On Oct. 27, commissioners approved a street and drainage performance bond for Lantana Unit 2 by a 4-0 vote, then deferred the final plat without action to the following week. That sequence matters: the earlier bond vote did not itself decide the plat. The Nov. 3 vote was the separate decision on the final subdivision layout.

The Nov. 3 minutes summarize Ott’s concern that developers should take more responsibility. They also record Germann’s lack of confidence in third-party review. Those are the commissioners’ recorded concerns; the minutes do not turn either concern into a finding about the condition of the project.

What the approval establishes

The recorded decision was approval of a final plat for Lantana Unit 2, with lots 1 through 93 listed for Precinct 4. A final plat sets out the subdivision layout submitted for county approval. The court’s vote should be read as a plat decision, rather than as a claim that homes have been built or that individual building permits have been issued.

The county clerk’s recorded plat is the next public document that can show the filed version of the approved layout. Readers can inspect the court’s Nov. 3 decision in the official minutes while the recorded plat and subsequent infrastructure records provide the next checks on how the plan proceeds.
