Guadalupe County’s adopted fiscal 2027 budget lists a 2026 county property-tax rate of $0.3493 per $100 of taxable value.

At a fixed $300,000 taxable value, the county rate would produce $1,047.90, up $56.70 from the prior rate. The illustration holds taxable value constant so homeowners can see the effect of the rate change itself; an actual bill can differ as values and exemptions change.

From the source record

Guadalupe County’s adopted fiscal 2027 budget breaks down its 2026 rate per $100 of taxable value. The components sum to $0.3493 per $100.

The previous total county rate was $0.3304 per $100 of taxable value. On that same $300,000 taxable value, it would have produced $991.20 in county tax. At a fixed $100,000 taxable value, the new and prior rates would produce $349.30 and $330.40, respectively, a difference of $18.90.

What changed in the county budget

The adopted budget says it will raise $3,739,540 more property-tax revenue than last year’s budget, a 4.75% increase. It identifies $3,018,691 of the revenue as coming from new property on the tax roll. Those are countywide budget figures, not the increase on a particular homeowner’s bill.

The 2026 county rate consists of $0.2752 for maintenance and operations, $0.0212 for debt and $0.0529 for lateral roads, all per $100 of taxable value. The appraisal district’s unofficial rate summary independently lists $0.2964 for the county and $0.0529 for lateral roads, which total $0.3493; its 2025 entries total $0.3304. The district cautions that it does not calculate tax levies and directs official rate questions to the county tax assessor.

What a property owner should check

A rate is applied to taxable value, which may differ from market or appraised value after applicable exemptions. The examples above isolate the county rate at an unchanged taxable value; they do not include taxes imposed by other taxing units. Compare the taxable value and exemptions on your own statement before treating the illustrated increase as your bill’s increase.

The fiscal year began Oct. 1, 2026, and runs through Sept. 30, 2027. The county’s adopted budget provides the rate and its components; a property owner can use those figures alongside the taxable value shown on a tax statement to check the county portion of the levy.
