Guadalupe County will hold a hazard mitigation plan public meeting Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. at the Cibolo Community Center, and its public survey is open through Feb. 12, 2027.

The center is at 203 S. Main St. in Cibolo, according to the city of Seguin’s Nov. 3 notice.

Public participation in this survey and / or attendance to the public meetings will provide the planning team valuable information that will be used in the development of the HMAP and educate the planning team's approach.

Seguin’s Nov. 3 notice gives the meeting location, survey deadline and purpose of the plan update.

Residents can tell the planning team which hazards concern them as it updates a plan tied to the county’s eligibility for FEMA hazard mitigation grants. Seguin says public input will help the team evaluate risks and develop strategies intended to reduce long-term danger to people and property.

The notice describes this as the county’s second public meeting on the update. Residents may attend or use the survey linked in the official notice to share their thoughts about hazards affecting the area. Seguin says hazard mitigation plans must receive FEMA approval every five years for continued eligibility under FEMA’s hazard mitigation assistance program.

This is an opportunity to shape a plan, not an announcement of an adopted project or an awarded grant. Which risks and strategies will appear in the completed plan remains to be established. Residents can check the meeting address, survey route and deadline in Seguin’s public notice, then watch for the completed plan to see how the input was used.
