Guadalupe County records differ by $500 on an approved firewall addition to a metal storage contract. The posted change order says a three-hour firewall was required for a City of Seguin permit and that the work was outside the original proposal.
In June 2025, the county approved the original metal storage structures contract by a 5-0 vote. The posted change order lists $1,030,000 as the original contract amount, a $35,500 addition and $1,065,500 as the revised amount.
From the source record
The addition is a component of the revised total, not a separate contract.
The approved change and the differing amounts
On Sept. 15, 2026, the county approved Change Order No. 1 by a 5-0 vote. The Sept. 15 minutes describe the firewall item as $35,000. The posted change order and budget amendment each list the firewall addition as $35,500. The difference between those recorded amounts is $500.
| Record | Amount |

| Posted change order | $35,500 |
| Budget Amendment 26-98 | $35,500 |
The table compares the documents' stated amounts; it does not establish an amount paid.
The budget adjustment
The county also approved Budget Amendment 26-98 by a 5-0 vote on Sept. 15, 2026. Budget Amendment 26-98 adds $23,858 from Road and Bridge fund balance to the metal storage structures line, bringing that line from $756,023 to $779,881. The amendment says savings from the Kingsbury Well project would reduce the fund balance increase needed for the firewalls.
The $23,858 budget-line increase and the $35,500 contract addition are different figures in different county records. Budget Amendment 26-98 lists the revised contract total as $1,065,500. The next public-record check is the executed change order, the Seguin permit and the county payment ledger; readers can compare the figures now in the posted change order and the Sept. 15 minutes.
