Seguin’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved a zoning change for 634 South Goodrich Street on Oct. 13, advancing a neighboring church’s parking proposal.
The commission’s action addressed the change from single-family residential to public zoning; the parking use still requires a separate specific use permit, according to the official outcome record.

The Parking lot will also require a Specific Use Permit on a vacant lot zoned Public as well, if the zoning change is approved.City of Seguin Planning and Codes Department ↗
Residents near South Goodrich and West Shelby streets could see the vacant lot used for church parking if the remaining approvals are granted. The city’s staff report identifies the church property immediately west of the lot and says the proposed parking would serve that church.
The commission took up the request as zoning case ZC 14-26. The posted materials identify the property as 634 S. Goodrich Street, Property ID 13351, and describe the requested change from R-1 single-family residential to P public zoning. That action alone does not authorize construction of a parking lot.
The next points to verify are City Council’s disposition of the zoning request and any specific use permit filing or hearing. Residents can use the city’s ZC 14-26 agenda materials to inspect the parcel and the proposal while those decisions remain to be documented.
