Seguin ISD says a new playground has opened at Ball Early Childhood Center, replacing equipment that served the campus for more than 20 years. Staff cut a ribbon Oct. 30, shortly before students first used the equipment, according to the district’s announcement.
The district says more than 400 three- and four-year-olds attend Ball’s pre-K classes and now have the new play space. Seguin ISD describes it as an outdoor area for play and developing motor skills; the announcement does not establish public access outside school use.

Seguin ISD says interest earned on existing bond funds made the project possible. Its announcement explains that bond proceeds and their interest are restricted to authorized capital work and cannot pay day-to-day operating costs such as salaries. It does not give a project price or identify the specific bond whose interest was used.
Ball also gained a classroom wing in 2024, which the district says used additional Bond 2019 funds. The next useful verification point is a district spending record showing the playground’s final cost and funding source; residents can inspect the district’s playground announcement for the opening and funding explanation now available.
