Guadalupe County commissioners are set to weigh four budget amendments on Oct. 27, including $110,000 for Veterans Treatment Court services and supplies.

If adopted, the amendments would direct grant funding to Veterans Treatment Court and shift county money for road facilities, court postage and mobile printers. The four documents are proposals, so the amounts describe changes before the court, not decisions already made.

A grant and three county fund changes

BA#27-3 proposes recognizing $110,000 in Texas Veterans Commission grant revenue in Short Term Grant Fund 899 for Veterans Treatment Court. Its proposed spending is $1,291 for supplies and $108,709 for contract services during a project period from Sept. 1, 2026, through Aug. 31, 2027. Residents can inspect the BA#27-3 grant amendment for the fund and spending lines.

The Road and Bridge storage-structure project total is listed at $779,881 before the proposed $5,000 addition.

BA#27-4 proposes moving $5,000 from Road and Bridge Fund 200 balance to metal storage structures for exit signs and inspection work. The attachment lists a resulting project total of $784,881. Its heading says FY2026 even though the amendment is numbered 27-4; the court record will need to resolve which fiscal year applies. The BA#27-4 document shows both project totals.

BA#27-5 proposes a $1,200 General Fund transfer within Justice of the Peace Precinct 2, moving money from postage to a postage lease. The BA#27-5 transfer identifies FY2027. This would change how that office’s postage costs are budgeted; it is not a $1,200 increase to the overall General Fund in the document.

BA#27-6 proposes $6,793 from General Fund balance: $3,993 for controlled assets and $2,800 for equipment repair. The attachment describes seven Gismo mobile printers with five-year warranties that had been ordered but not received by Sept. 30, with the purchase applied to a credit with 365 Labs. Like BA#27-4, its heading says FY2026 despite its 27-series number. The BA#27-6 document gives the equipment and funding lines.

How to follow the meeting

The Oct. 27 meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m.; the county's standing court page places regular Tuesday voting sessions in the third-floor Commissioners Courtroom at 101 East Court Street in Seguin. The posted agenda also includes online access and a citizens-to-be-heard period, identified as item 3. The county cautions that linked documents may change after posting; readers should check the Commissioners Court page for current meeting access and location information.

The retained agenda inventory places the four amendments at items 8.K through 8.N, alongside a consent section at 7.A through 7.J and other action entries at 8.A through 8.S. The retained notes identify the amendment proposals but do not supply descriptions of those other entries, so this guide cannot characterize their substance. Commissioners may discuss or change the proposed amendments before acting.

The court is scheduled to take up BA#27-3 through BA#27-6 at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. The next verification point is the meeting record: it should establish whether each proposal was approved, changed, deferred or rejected and clarify the fiscal-year headings. Readers can use the linked amendment documents above to compare any later action with the amounts now proposed.
