Guadalupe County commissioners approved two UES construction-materials testing and inspection change orders for its emergency facilities on Nov. 3. The orders add $15,382 for the Emergency Operations Center and $15,770 for the Emergency Response Center.

Together, the approved additions total $31,152. Drew Engelke moved to approve the orders, Jacqueline Ott seconded, and the court voted 5-0, according to the commissioners’ minutes. The two amounts belong to separate facilities; the combined figure is the sum of those approved changes.

The minutes record approval of both change orders and note that further review was discussed.

What the approval covers

The Emergency Operations Center change is identified as No. 2-R1; the Emergency Response Center change is No. 1-R1. Both concern additional construction-materials testing and inspection by UES. The court’s recorded action approves those two changes, while the minutes also note that more review needs to happen in the future. The minutes do not identify a later decision date in the retained excerpt.

The next useful records are the signed change orders and a subsequent project-cost update. Residents can use the Nov. 3 minutes to verify the amounts and vote, then compare those documents with each facility’s existing contract and budget to see the work added and the resulting project totals.
