Guadalupe County budgeted $493,976 across three public-library lines for FY2027.

The adopted FY2027 county budget covers Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027. A Guadalupe.News calculation of the county's FY2027 budget worksheet adds three original-budget entries: $243,010 for Schertz, $192,896 for Seguin/Guadalupe and $58,070 for Marion.

From the source record

Three library-support lines in Guadalupe County's FY2027 original budget.Budgeted allocations are not payment totals or measures of library use.

For residents who use these libraries, the three lines set planned county support, not a measured change in library service. An original budget entry identifies an amount the county set aside; a payment record would establish what it spent.

Where the money is budgeted

Schertz has the largest of the three lines. The table preserves each account number so readers can find the entries in column M of the county's workbook; the combined total is a Guadalupe.News calculation, not a separate budget line.

What the allocation measures

These figures answer a narrow money question: how the county divided its planned library support among the three named accounts. They do not convert into a cost per household without a defensible denominator, and the size of a line is not a measure of how many county residents a library serves.

That is especially relevant outside city limits. A budget allocation does not by itself establish card eligibility, reciprocal access, hours or the services an executed agreement requires. Those questions need the applicable library agreements and usage records organized by residence.

The next number to watch

Actual payments require a FY2027 spending record, not the original budget column. The next useful comparison is each library's county payment ledger against its budget line, alongside the executed agreements describing the services purchased.

Readers can inspect the three account numbers in the county's FY2027 budget worksheet. Payment records and library agreements would show whether the planned allocation became spending and what service terms applied before the fiscal year ends.
