Guadalupe County’s adopted FY2027 budget lists $19.8 million across six named capital lines in its tax-note fund, led by $7.5 million for the Law Enforcement Center.

That total is a Guadalupe.News count of the named lines in the county budget. It shows where the county plans to direct capital money this fiscal year; it is not a tally of bills paid.

From the source record

Named FY2027 capital allocations in Guadalupe County Fund 701.The fund covers multiple tax-note series; this chart does not assign each project to a single series.

For residents, the plan puts its largest single allocation at the Law Enforcement Center and names separate work on North Guadalupe Street and low-water crossings and bridges. The amounts make the county’s public safety and road priorities concrete, even though a budget line alone cannot show when a project will be finished.

Where the capital money goes

The six lines cover a building, a street, a fire-station conversion, crossings and bridges, and two fire vehicles. Here is the full breakdown from the county’s adopted budget, as compiled by Guadalupe.News.

Six named Fund 701 capital lines in the adopted FY2027 budget
ProjectBudgeted amount
Law Enforcement Center$7.5 million
North Guadalupe Street$4.8 million
JP remodel to fire station$3.5 million
Low-water crossings and bridges$2.5 million
Fire engine$1 million
Squad/tender truck$500,000

The county approved the FY2027 budget before the fiscal year began. Commissioners approved the FY2027 budget 5-0 on September 1, 2026. The adopted FY2027 budget took effect October 1, 2026. The September 1 minutes establish the budget vote; the budget supplies the project amounts.

What the tax-note label means

Fund 701 spans the county’s 2013, 2017, 2020 and 2026 tax-note series. That matters when following the money: the six project allocations are entries in a shared fund, so the table does not assign every dollar of a project to the newest note issue.

The county’s debt schedule puts FY2027 debt service for the 2026 series at $2,414,944.44. Debt service is a payment obligation on that series; the project table is a set of capital allocations in a fund covering several series. Treating the two figures as a household tax bill, or matching the payment to a particular project, would go beyond what these records establish.

The number to watch next

These six budget lines are a starting point. A FY2027 Fund 701 expenditure ledger or a later budget amendment would show whether the county paid out money or changed an allocation. Readers can use the county’s budget page to check the adopted plan against those later records.
