Seguin City Council approved a $214,713.50 additional services proposal with Pape-Dawson Engineers for a Cordova Road construction management plan on Oct. 20. The authorization moves project preparation forward; it does not itself mark the start of road construction.
The planned project would widen Cordova Road from SH 46 to SH 123 to four lanes with a median and shared-use paths on both sides. That design would change how drivers, pedestrians and cyclists use the corridor once built.
From the source record

What the additional services cover
The city’s indexed proposal calls for a construction management plan, utility coordination and verification, changes to traffic-control phasing, subsurface utility verification and on-site field expenses. Those tasks address how the project can be managed around existing utilities and traffic when construction proceeds. Council authorized the city manager to execute the additional services proposal; the authorization is for this engineering work, not a construction contract for the widening.
Funding and the next project records
The project received Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization funding in 2021, with Guadalupe County sharing the local match and Seguin’s portion secured through bonds and the fiscal-year capital improvement budget. The newly approved amount pays for additional services within that larger road project.
The proposal says TxDOT requires a construction management plan three months before letting if utilities have not been relocated before construction authorization. It schedules AT&T and Charter-Spectrum utility relocation for June 2027. Those dates make the executed services agreement, the utility schedule and a subsequent TxDOT letting record the next useful checks on when the planned road work can advance.
