The proposed Microsoft renewal would support employee productivity and collaboration across Seguin city departments.

Seguin City Council is scheduled to consider a purchase order of up to $120,000 for annual Microsoft licensing and subscriptions on Nov. 3. The IT memo says the subscriptions support employee productivity and collaboration across city departments.

The Oct. 20 IT memo lists a $116,368.81 quote through Birch Cline Technologies under Choice Partners Contract #22/04. The proposed resolution sets a higher limit on the purchase order; that limit is not the quoted price. The proposed purchase would come from the IT department’s fiscal 2026–27 operating budget, with no additional appropriation requested in the memo.

What the renewal covers

The memo says Seguin established the subscriptions in 2022 and expanded them as operational needs grew. It describes employee productivity and collaboration across departments, but identifies no particular public service as dependent on this renewal.

What happens next

The Microsoft renewal appears as consent item 7h, numbered 26-487, for the council meeting scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 3 in Council Chambers, 210 E. Gonzales St. The resolution is a proposal; the unsigned passage line does not establish council approval. The Nov. 3 meeting record will establish what council did, while an executed purchase order would establish the final price and term. Readers can inspect the proposed resolution and the IT cost memo while that decision is pending.
