Seguin City Council is scheduled to decide Nov. 3 whether to approve quarterly hotel-tax reports and disbursements for four civic groups.
The proposed funding would support Teatro de Artes de Juan Seguin, Mid-Texas Symphony, the Fields of Huber Ranch and the Seguin Heritage Museum. Finance Director Susan Caddell recommends funding them, according to her quarterly report memo.

The decision affects hotel-tax support for Seguin arts, heritage and sports activities, with reimbursement limited to documented spending. Caddell wrote that groups must hold the events or functions covered by their agreements or have funding reduced accordingly. No organization may be reimbursed for more than it spent. The museum’s requirement is to remain open to the public rather than hold a particular event.
For the quarter ended Sept. 30, Caddell reported tournaments at the Fields of Huber Ranch, an Anton Nel Beethoven concert by the symphony, Hispanic Heritage Month activities by Teatro de Artes and continued public opening of the museum. Her separate agreements memo says the museum’s agreement retains $25,000 in additional funding for staffing and requires proof of increased staffing when requested by the city.
The fiscal 2027 hotel-tax budget established a funding framework; this is a separate quarterly review of reported activities and disbursements. Council action remains pending. Residents can inspect the city’s quarterly memo for the activity account and watch the Nov. 3 decision for approved amounts and any changes to the proposed agreements.
