Seguin City Council approved five-year, nonexclusive commercial solid waste and recycling collection franchises for seven companies, effective Jan. 1, 2027. The council acted Oct. 20 on item 7.D, according to the verified outcome and the city's meeting record.

Businesses inside Seguin’s city limits will have seven authorized commercial waste and recycling franchise operators under the approved agreements. Nonexclusive means the action did not designate one company as the sole franchise operator.

From the source record

Seguin City Council, Oct. 20Commercial collection franchises approved

The verified outcome for council item 7.D names seven commercial collection franchise operators and a Jan. 1 effective date.

The seven companies named in the approval are Alamo Disposal, Apache Disposal, Republic Services, Texas Disposal Systems, Tiger Sanitation, Waste Management and Waste Connections. The council approved the resolution by unanimous voice vote, on a motion by Councilmember Raya seconded by Councilmember Carlson.

The approval establishes who may operate under these franchises and when the five-year term begins; it does not establish a price for any business customer. The next useful records are the executed franchise agreements and any customer service terms. Readers can use the city's meeting page to identify item 26-451 and inspect its listed agreement materials; those materials would help answer what terms apply beyond the council's approval.
